New NHS and private patients welcome at our purpose-built West End practice.

Our Story

West End care,
modern dentistry.

A practice with roots stretching back to the 1940's — reimagined for a new era of patient-centred dental care.

Our History

Built on trust, refined over time.

West End Smiles was formerly known as Cadden Dental Clinic, with roots in Glasgow's West End stretching back to the 1940's.

Since taking over in 2015, we have continued to care for generations of patients while broadening our expertise to bring the most up-to-date treatment options to suit you.

In 2022, we relocated to an eye-catching, purpose-built practice with modern equipment and an elegant, calming setting designed by Irfan himself.

That means time to ask questions, treatment explained in plain terms before anything starts and a practice designed to put nervous patients and children at ease, all while keeping our promise: you come first.

Treatments

Care for every stage
of your smile.

From routine check-ups to cosmetic treatment, we offer a full range of NHS and private dental care in Glasgow's West End.

General Dentistry

Everyday dental care, done well.

Regular examinations help spot early signs of decay, gum disease and other issues before they become more significant. We offer care for patients of all ages.

  • Children can benefit from fluoride treatments and fissure sealants to help protect against cavities.
  • For adults, we focus on gum health and the early detection of decay, wear, cracks and other changes.
  • Fillings restore teeth affected by decay, with options clearly explained before treatment begins.
  • For sudden toothache, chipped teeth or swelling, please call the practice and we will aim to see you as quickly as possible.
Hygiene Services

A foundation for good oral health.

Our hygienists provide professional cleaning and personalised advice to help keep your smile in great condition between dental visits.

  • Professional cleaning to remove plaque and tartar build-up.
  • Personalised advice for healthy smiles between visits.
  • Most adults and children benefit from a check-up every 6–12 months.
  • Guidance on brushing, flossing, diet and suitable products for your needs.
Teeth Whitening

A brighter smile, designed for comfort.

Our whitening system can brighten teeth with little or no sensitivity, using bespoke trays made to fit your teeth precisely.

  • The Whitebox whitening system is designed to provide a bright result while reducing sensitivity.
  • Bespoke trays are created following an initial assessment appointment.
  • At the second appointment, you will receive your personalised kit including trays, three gel syringes and sensitivity relief serum.
  • Whitening is then completed comfortably at home using the trays and gel at a time that suits you.

Composite Fillings

Natural-looking restorations.

Tooth-coloured composite fillings provide a discreet and effective solution for cavities and minor repairs.

  • Bonded directly to the tooth structure, meaning less healthy tooth may need to be removed compared with older metal fillings.
  • Made from tooth-coloured resin, matched closely to your natural shade.
  • Suitable for cavities, chips, worn edges and small gaps.
Composite Bonding

Reshape and enhance your smile.

A cosmetic treatment where tooth-coloured resin is applied, shaped and bonded directly to teeth — with no damage to healthy tooth structure.

  • Suitable for chips, cracks, small gaps and worn or uneven teeth.
  • Can also address misshapen teeth, discolouration and exposed roots caused by gum recession.
  • A conservative treatment with results that can be seen immediately.

Smilelign

Straighten your teeth discreetly.

Smilelign is an invisible orthodontic treatment and a modern alternative to traditional metal braces, using clear removable aligners custom-made for your teeth.

  • Clear, removable aligners worn for two weeks at a time before progressing to the next stage.
  • Treatment length varies depending on your case; 6–12 months is typical.
  • Any initial tightness or minor speech changes normally settle within a day or two of starting a new aligner.
Book a Smilelign Assessment — £99
Sleepwell Anti-Snoring Device

A better night's sleep.

Snoring can result from a partial airway closure during sleep. The Sleepwell device is a dental appliance worn at night to reduce or stop snoring.

  • Two-piece appliance fitting over both dental arches for a secure, comfortable fit.
  • Works by holding the lower jaw slightly forward, helping prevent airway collapse and reducing throat tissue vibration.
  • Soft inner lining and side-to-side movement allowance for comfort throughout the night.
  • Some patients notice increased saliva or a temporary change in bite each morning; these effects typically reduce with time.
  • Dr Irfan is trained to provide Sleepwell treatment at West End Smiles.
